GENESIS - PART 21
	GENESIS 9:18-10:32
	"THE PROPHECY & ITS FULFILLMENT IN THE TABLE OF NATIONS"

A.  NOAH'S FALL:  SIN -- NAKEDNESS/SHAME - COVERING.  GEN 9:18-23.
	1.	Noah got drunk because he sinned (No excuses need
                be made here).
	2.	Noah's drunkeness led to his nakedness
                (Cf. Gen 3:6,7).
	3.	Noah's sin provoked Ham's scoffing.
	4.	Noah's other two sons, Shem & Japheth, "covered"
                his sin (Cf. Gen 3:21).

B.	NOAH'S PROPHECY:
        CURSE ON CANAAN, BLESSING ON SHEM & JAPHETH. GEN 9:24-27
	1.	Noah's response wasn't unjust:  Father's sins
                visited on his kids.  Ex 20:5
	2.	Noah's response was prophetic
                (thus inspired by God).
		-	Canaan fathered tribes whom Israel & other
                        Gentile nations destroyed.
		-	Shem fathered the Jews through whom came
                        the Word of God.
                -       Shem fathered the Jews through whom came
                        the Lord Jesus Christ.
		-	Japheth fathered the Gentile nations who
                        "enlarged" to cover the globe.
		-	Japheth fathered the Gentile nations who
                        embraced the "Lord God of Shem".
	3.	Noah's response was merciful:  Only one of Ham's
                children was cursed.

C.	NOAH'S PRODGENY:  THE TABLE OF NATIONS.  GEN 10.
        (SEE LAST PAGE).
	1.	JAPHETH father of the Indo-Europeans (GEN 10:2-5)
	2.	HAM father of the Afro-Asians (GEN 10:6-20)
	3.	SHEM father of the Semites (GEN 10:21-32)

D.  APPLICATION.
	1.	The incredible trustworthiness of God's Word:
                History, Honesty, Prophecy.
	2.	The careful tracing of God's Messiah:
		Seed (Gen 3), Seth (Gen 4), Shem (Gen 9),
                Ab (Gen 12-18), Isaac (Gen 17, 21), Jacob (Gen 28),
                Judah (Gen 49), Jesse (Is 11), David (II Chron 17,
                I Sam 7), Crucified (Ps 22), Virgin Born (Isa 7:14),
                He would be God (Isa 9:6), Rejected by own people,
                Accepted by enemies (Isa 52, 53)
		Would have forerunner (Isa 40:3, Mal 3:1),
		Betrayed by a friend for 30 pieces of silver, that
                would be cast on the floor of the temple and used
                to buy a potter's field (Zech 11:11-12),
		Born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2).
	3.	The consistent telling of the Way of Salvation.
                Sin => Shame => Covering
	4.	The remarkable prommise to every sinner.  Come to
                Christ & You will be saved.
 	THE TABLE OF NATIONS

	A.  JAPHETH "THE INDO-EUROPEANS" (GEN 10:2-5)

1.	GOMER:  Crimea, Germany, France/Gauls, Spain/Galacia,
        Brit/Celts, Ireland. (Strabo, Herodotus, Plutarch, "G-M-R")
	-ASHKENAZ:	Fertile Crescent, Germany.  (Troy's
        "Ascenius", Ashkenazi).
	-TOGARMAH:	Turkey, Turkestan, Armenia. (Ez 27, 38.
        "House of Targom").

2.	MAGOG, TUBAL, MESHECH:  Russia.  (Josephus, Heroditus,
        Ez 38:2,3).  (Tobolsk on the Tobol River, Moscow on the
        Moskva River)

3.	MADAI:  The Medes.

4.	JAVAN:  The Greeks.  (Homer, "Yavan", "Ionian")
		-KITTIM:  Cyprus.
		-RODANIM:  Rhodes, Rhone River (Settled at its
                mouth)

5.	TIRAS:  The Thracians, The Romans.  (Josephus)

	B.  HAM "THE AFRO-ASIANS" (GEN 10:6-20)

1.	PUT:  Libya  (Josephus).

2.	CUSH:  Ethiopia & Arabia  (Bible).
		-SONS:  All identified with sites in Arabia.
		-SHEBA:  Arabian site.  (Arch. finds worship of
                YHWH! I Kings 10; II Chr 9)

3.	MIZRAIM:  Egypt.  Sons pushed on into the African
        continent.

4.	CANAAN:  Canannite tribes primarily in Palestine.
        Conquered by Israel.
		-SIDON:	Father of strong sea-faring city to North.
		-HITTITES:	Large empire in "modern" Turkey.
                1000 yrs!  (Gen 15-II Chr 1) (They suddenly fell.
                Moved East.  Oriental?)
                (Hittites => Khittae/Cathay (Cuneiform, Marco Polo))
                (Like Mongols:  shoe toes upturned, pigtails, iron,
                horses)
		-SINITES:	Orientals.  (Sin, Chin, China,
                Sino-, "Sennacherib")

	C.  SHEM "THE SEMITES" (GEN 10:21-32)

1.	ELAM:  Elamites. (Gen 14, Monuments, Eventually joined
        Medes).

2.	ASSHUR:  Assyrians.  (Became racially, culturally,
        religiously mixed).

3.	LUD:  Lydians.  (Josephus).

4.	ARAM:  Aramians.  (Daniel, Ezra.  Aramian the "Lingua
        franca" in old world)

5.	ARPHAXAD:  Grandfather of Eber ("Hebrew").  Ancestor to
        Abraham.
